What is it?
A check up and clean is a necessary oral health check to assess the overall health of your mouth and determine if there any further work is required. Our cleaning of the teeth involves a scaler, perio probe, and a prophy or airflow.
Why is it important?
Calculus otherwise known as tartar builds up around our teeth over time due to many factors. Once plaque hardens and becomes calculus it becomes impossible to remove using a toothbrush, and contributes to tooth decay and gum recession. This is why it is important to attend 6 monthly check-up and cleans by your dentist.
What does it include?
A check-up and clean includes a comprehensive examination in which the dentist goes into detail about any and all findings relating to the overall health of the patients mouth. As well as a thorough cleaning of all teeth, and a fluoride treatment. X-rays may be taken throughout the appointment as needed.
How much does it cost?
A new patient check-up and clean costs $280. This includes all X-rays taken.
